NORTH EAST; WHEN TWO CULTURES COLLIDE

North East is a romantic  flick written, directed and produced by Muyiwa Aluko. It's top billed cast include O. C. Ukeje, Ini Dima-Okojie, Gbenga Titiloye Carol King and Saeed Funky Mallam. It also features special appearamces by Belinda Yanda Agedah, Tope Sadiq, Alex Ayalogu and R&B star Capital F.E.M.I.

SYNOPSIS: What happens when two young people from different parts of Nigerian with cultures unapologetically opposed to each other, meet and are drawn into a maelstrom of fiery passion. Will their growing bond be strong enough or will culture and religion have its say and its way!

North East, as its subtitle - "The Heart of the Matter" suggests, is set to question and challenge established idiosyncrasies and embedded biases within the Nigerian society. While the premise; a man and woman from Nigeria's East and North meet, fall in love and then encounter from their families resistance anchored on religious doctrines and cultural taboos, is one we know all too well, we however reserve comments as the film seems poised to tackle this recurrent and age old theme from a fresh perspective.

North East comes to us from the studios of Watts Camera Action and hits Nigerian cinemas nationwide from 24th June, 2016.
